I've found that while doing some high tier, challenging nephalem rifts, it is often better than not to go 1 torment lower than what u can handle. I can complete a torment 8 rift, but I can farm torment 7 rifts much faster. While I may not earn as much experience per kill and the drop rates aren't as great, the speed at which I kill monsters, elites, and run through rifts prove to outmatch by about 3 to 1. For example, I completed a t7 nephalem rift in about 7 or 8 mins, I get about 1 paragon level per rift and 100 bloodshards. If I'm super lucky I can complete a t8 nephalem rift in 15 mins. I get almost the same amount of bloodshards. And just above 1 paragon level. On average they take me 20 mins. In that same time I can do about 3 neph rifts, getting about 3 times the experience, 2.5 to 2.9 times the blood shards, and more materials, deaths breath, and plenty more legendaries and set items due to the exponentially larger amount of enemies killed and chests opened.

Yup, and once you start minmaxing your gear and getting ancients you will be farming T8 as fast as you farm T7 now!
